Collect course dates evidence from primary student visa holders as part of onboarding

The 8105 visa condition for primary student visa holders, restricts their hours of work to 48 hours per fortnight whilst their courses are in session. Put another way, they can work more than 48 hours "during semester breaks". Check out our Student Visa article here for more details.

From a compliance perspective, this means if employers want to allow primary student visa holders to work more than 48 hours per fortnight outside course dates, then they need to collect evidence of when courses are and aren't in session from each primary student visa holder (with the exception being those doing Masters or PhD by Research for whom are exempt from the 8105 condition).

Collect Course Date Evidence as part of self-onboarding and the Employer Wizard

vSure allows employers to optionally collect Course Date Evidence using the SMS / Email based self-onboarding AND Employer Wizard workflows.

The workflow logic is as such:

IF the employee/contractor/candidate says Yes to Student Visa AND the level of Course they are doing is NOT "Masters or PhD By Research":

StudentCDE

AND

They specify themselves are Primary Student Visa holder (which means the 8105 condition will apply):

StudentCDE2

THEN

The Course Dates Evidence screen will appear, allowing the student to specify their term start and end dates - noting they can add as many term dates as their evidence confirms (e.g. if they have 4 terms in the one document, then they could add 4 start and end dates):

How to toggle collection of Course Date Evidence On/Off in Self-Onboarding & Employer Wizard

Under My Account | My Account you will find 4 options at the bottom allowing you to switch on/off Student Visa information collection AND Course Date Evidence collection. It is our strong recommendation that for optimal compliance, you have these 4 options as YES:
